This is the class to take to begin learning more advanced skills to save your life after or Concealed Carry class. This course is intended for students with some previous shooting experience who want to learn good defensive shooting techniques and begin learning how to use a handgun to defend themselves and their loved ones. It is a full day of intense instruction, discussion, and demonstration, with 2 hours of range work.
The course includes:
Discussion of use of deadly force, the law, the legal system, and defending your actions
Discussion of psychological aspects of a self-defense shooting and how they affect your judgment and abilities
Advanced handgun shooting techniques that work in high stress situations
Reloading techniques that work in high stress situations
One handed techniques and skills for shooting when wounded
Handgun malfunction clearing
A range session with an instructor to practice and test the techniques
Different ammunition types, function, and uses in self-defense
Discussion, demonstration, and examination of a variety of home defense and concealed carry equipment and gear

Equipment Needed:
Notebook and pen/pencil for notes
Eye and ear protection
Bring or rent a semi-auto handgun with at least 2 magazines, or a revolver with at least 1 speed loader or moon clips
100 rounds of ammunition, can be purchased from the range
A lunch and any drinks or snacks needed - there will not be time to leave to pick up a lunch during the class.
Prerequisites:
Basic familiarity with handguns
A previous introductory class, such as a Handgun 101 Class, Basic Pistol Class, or similar.
